Stacking Cup Club

One of my roles in the Maths Team is to help organise 'Maths Week'. One year we used the theme of 'Maths in Sports', in my search for interesting ways to share this theme with the school I came across Stacking Cups. It was so popular that I decided to run it as an extra curricula activity.

BHS News

Combining my love of making videos and the news of the school, I created a news club. BHS news was run by the students and I guided and supported them in the gathering of stories, interviews, filming and final production. The kids even made the opening music for the broadcast. We presented the news once a month at the Monday school assembly.

M.A.D. (Make A Difference) Club

M.A.D. Club is a charity club that has been a part of my school for many years. I was part of this after school activity for 2 years. I was involved in raising money through school fundraisers and collecting food for the St. James Food Drive. This club was a very rewarding and interesting club to be a part of.

About Me

I am a teacher with 25 years experience and have recently returned to Western Australia after working in international schools in Belgium and Hong Kong. My most recent position was as a Year 5 class at Beacon Hill School, Hong Kong.

My career started in Australia and has taken me to Brussels and Hong Kong. I am passionate about education and have and energy and enthusiasm that comes through my daily classroom practices, or at least I hope it does.

I am the very proud mum of an amazing 5 year old boy and I have been married for 9 years.

I love sports of all kinds. From a young age I have played netball and been an avid swimmer. My passion for sports took me to the Sydney Olympics as a volunteer which has been one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had.

I have traveled the world and learnt a lot about myself and education which I am forever grateful for. From Belgium to Hong Kong and now, back to Perth, I have been exposed to some innovative, progressive and inspiring professionals and self learning.

I love teaching, being creative and making learning interesting and enjoyable. Mathematics and ICT are keen areas of interest.
